In a recent survey, over 72% of Americans said they weren’t sure about how much product they needed to use when it came to their hair and skin routines. In most cases, customers are using too much of their products and wasting their hard earned cash.

Are you curious how much is too much when it comes to cleansers, creams, and serums? We break down how much (or how little) of each product you really need.

Moisturizing Cream

After sun exposure or in winter months, skin can feel dry making you think you need to slather on a lot more moisturizing cream. Sadly, using too much cream can be very harmful.

You should only be using a quarter-sized amount of cream when you’re putting it on your face. That’s all you really need to hydrate the skin and avoid clogged pores, greasy skin, and accentuated wrinkles. Using a water-based moisturizer like our Repair & Release Cream can be used twice daily to see best results and notice better hydration in your skin.

Eye Serum

When applying eye serum, you want to use a nickel sized amount and its best to apply on the top of your hand. Use your finger and gently apply around your entire eye. That includes your undereye, eyelids, and the space between your brows where your eyes meet.

Signs you’re using too much eye serum is overly dry skin, exaggerated wrinkles, and residue when applying your eye makeup. Keeping your eye serum amount smaller helps deliver the effective peptides without overwhelming this thin, sensitive area of skin. Best of all, use any excess serum left on the top of your hands and rub it in for younger looking hands!

Cleanser

Sadly, you need at least a few pumps of a foaming cleanser to even get your skin feeling clean.  The first thing is first, switch over to an oil-based cleanser right away since it’s far more hydrating and you only need a dime sized amount.

Using just a tiny bit of an oil cleanser will provide your skin with instant benefits. It will be softer to the touch after the first use and the product will last you so much longer, you’ll end up saving money in the long run. Even if dime-sized doesn’t seem like enough product to wash your face, you’ll be amazed at how powerful even a little bit can be!
