The reviews are in…Oil cleansing is one of the easiest and most effective ways to transform aging skin and provide much-needed nutrients. The best part is that it can provide results for every skin type.

No matter if your skin is dry, oily, or combination – these are some of the top benefits oil cleansing will provide for your specific skin!

Oily Skin

skin type, what is my skin type, breakouts, oily skin

If you suffer from oily skin you know it can be an embarrassing problem to get under control. Some people will assume your skin isn’t clean or you sweat a lot but oily skin is caused by genetics and needs special care. By using an oil cleanser to manage oily skin, it can provide some pretty impressive results. You may be thinking “why put oil on oily skin?” but the truth is that it can help manage and regulate your skin’s oil production.

When you wash oily skin with soap, it can strip skin of essential oils which puts your oil production into overdrive. When you use an oil cleanser which is much less harsh than foaming soaps, it balances your skin’s pH levels and regulates the amount of oil your skin produces. This will help your skin stay less oily and also clear any excess dirt and buildup from pores so they can appear smaller. Oil cleaning is absolutely necessary for managing oily skin.

Dry Skin

dry skin, dry skin type, flakey skin, dull skin, dry skin remedy

Dry skin is about as bad as it gets when it comes to aging skin. Not only will it ruin your makeup but it will make wrinkles look deeper and worse than they really are. If you have dry skin you know that hydration is key to keeping skin healthy and beautiful, but oil cleansing might be the extra boost you need to add moisture to your skin, brighten your complexion, and fade wrinkles.

When you wash your face with soap or foaming cleanser, the foaming agents can dry out your skin making your genetic problem of dryness even worse. It can lead to flakes, excessive wrinkles, and even rashes. If you switch to oil cleansing to manage your dry skin, you’ll be amazed that you can feel an improvement after the very first use! Skin feels soft to the touch even before applying your moisturizer. Plus, it will help keep hydration in the deeper layers of your skin all day long!

Combination Skin

combination skin, oily t-zone, oily tzone, oily skin, dry skin, skincare

Combination skin can be the most difficult skin type to deal with because it’s a constant battle of dry vs. oily. Finding products that won’t irritate and inflame one or both issues can be hard but that’s why oil cleansing is such a savior for combination skin.

The key to managing combination skin is to treat both the dry and oily areas with botanical ingredients that don’t hurt your pH balance. Keeping your pH healthy with oil cleansing will provide great results for combination skin because it will help condition your skin to normal. The essential oils like tea tree and lavender will help balance your skin and even out the dryness and oil. Oil cleansers work so well for combination skin that many people say after prolonged use, the combination skin improved and they had less difference between the oily parts and the dry parts.

Peppermint oil like the kind found in our Lavender Oil Cleanser has natural antiseptic properties to help keep your skin clean and clear of free radicals and bacteria. It also has a great ability to cool your skin on contact, so it will provide relief if you suffer from inflammation and redness. Make sure you’re using your Lavender Oil Cleanser with peppermint oil twice a day to keep skin happy and pores clean!

Tea Tree oil is known as a skin savior thanks to its many benefits for your complexion. It has been used in tons of personal care products thanks to its endless benefits – but its superpower is what it can do for skin if used daily as part of your cleansing routine.

Tea Tree oil has antimicrobial properties that work hard to keep breakouts and skin inflammation at bay. If you suffer from puffy skin, its antioxidant properties can help calm and de-puff your delicate skin. Cleansing twice a day with Tea Tree oil will also deliver hydration and softness to even the driest skin types. You’ll be able to notice an improvement in your skin texture after just one use!

Lavender Oil

Lavender oil is one of the most popular essential oils in America thanks to its relaxing aroma – but there’s more to this ingredient than just a pretty scent. For centuries, it’s been used to manage stress, anxiety, and depression, but it can also uplift your skin as part of your cleansing routine.

When using your Lavender Oil Cleanser twice daily, you can expect to reveal more hydrated, smooth, and vibrant skin. If you’ve taken the time to look closely at your pores, you’ll notice many of them are clogged with blackheads. Blackheads are collections of dirt and pollution that live in your pores. Even if you’ve never tried an oil cleanser before, millions of Americans are embracing this new way of cleansing their skin. Compared to foaming face washes or soaps, oil cleansers are much better at their job and much safer for your skin.

The cool thing about an oil cleanser is that it does a lot more than just clean your face. There are so many benefits of using an oil cleanser – and we’ve rounded up our favorites for you so you can get the most out of your skin and your cleanser!

It Exfoliates

If you are still using an abrasive exfoliator to help rid your skin of flakes and dead skin cells, you are likely doing serious damage to your face. Hard exfoliants end up leaving tiny tears in your delicate skin which leads to redness, inflammation, and flakes. Thanks to the special texture of oil cleansing, it helps exfoliate your skin gently without needing to rub hard beads or fibers on it.

Oil cleansers work to exfoliate by using friction rather than an abrasive material. Oil works to attract oil so while you’re applying your oil cleanser, it will work like a magnet to attract and remove dead skin cells and buildup in your pores. Not only will it help get your face clean but it will exfoliate away dull skin and flakes in one easy and safe step!

It Moisturizes

When you wash your face with soap, it will start to mess with the natural oils of your skin. It can throw off your skin’s pH levels which will lead to dry skin, dull skin, and deep wrinkles. This is because most soaps and facewashes and filled with foaming agents that disrupt your skin and can cause serious long-term damage like accelerated aging.

For the safety of your skin and the look of your wrinkles, ditch your foamy face wash ASAP! By switching to an oil cleanser it won’t just clean makeup and dirt from your face, but it will hydrate skin every single time! Thanks to oils like Lavender and Tea Tree, your skin gets nourished with hydration and anti-aging ingredients every time you use it. You won’t just have cleanser skin, you’ll have softer skin too!

It Removes Makeup

You may not realize it but having to take your makeup off every day adds an extra and unnecessary step to your skincare routine. Stop wasting your time getting ready every day and switch to an oil cleanser. Most makeup removers are filled with chemicals which is how they take off waterproof makeup. Thankfully, research has proven that oil works 10x better at removing makeup than any other consistency.

Using an oil cleanser will remove your makeup and wash your face in one easy step. It will save you some of your valuable time before bed so you can spend more time relaxing and enjoying yourself. Even the most waterproof makeup is no match for an oil cleanser. Just apply it to your face, and use a damp cloth to clean off eye makeup. Rinse off with warm water and voila! You’ll never wake up with yesterday’s makeup on again!

If You Hate Long Skincare Routines, These Are The 3 Basics You Need!

skincare basics, skin care basics, minimal skincare routine, minimalist skincare routine, easy skincare routine, fast skincare routine, basic skincare routine

In a magical world, your kids would leave you alone, your husband would have his own bathroom skin, and you would have unlimited time to do your skincare routine each day. In reality, that couldn’t be further from the truth.

If you are constantly on the go or don’t have the time or desire for a lengthy and expensive skincare routine, here are the three basics you need to help provide amazing anti-aging results in 5 minutes or less!

Cleaning Power

washing your face, face washing, oil cleansing, cleasner, face cleanser, best face cleanser, cleanser for oily skin, makeup removing cleanser

Ask any skin care professional what is the single most important part of an effective routine and they will all agree it is a cleanser. What they will also agree with is that more than half of Americans are using the wrong kind of products to wash their face, resulting in damage. Soap is great for your body but terrible for the delicate skin on your face. That’s why so many professionals are now directing their clients to switch to a cleansing oil that will not just clean their face, but help fight wrinkles and brighten their complexion.

Oil cleansing has only recently become notorious as the better way to clean your face. Instead of relying on harsh soaps, oil cleansers use cold-pressed oils to clean your face. Not only will it wash away the dirt from the day, but oil cleansing is impressive at removing even the most waterproof makeup without having to pull at your skin which causes wrinkles. If you’re looking to keep your routine short, and oil cleanser will cut your makeup removal and face washing time in half – but deliver even better results!

A Little Lift

sagging neck, sagging neck skin, neck lift, neck lift alternatives, sagging neck treatment, neck firming cream, turkey neck

No matter what you’ve heard, skincare isn’t just about your face. One of the most important parts of any anti-aging routine is avoiding sagging on your chin and neck which can add a decade to your look. Skincare needs to start below the neck and go right to your hairline which is why using a Neck Firming Cream is a quick and easy way to complete your routine and see dramatic results.

A Neck Firming Cream works differently than your normal moisturizer because its main goal isn’t hydration, its tightening and lifting the skin. Using peptides like Essenskin, it works to restructure and fortify thin and sagging skin to help lift and firm it. Not only will it leave your skin feeling tighter and more lifted, but it will round out a younger-looking complexion for your most confident skin ever!

Go Deep

layers of skin, deep layers of skin, types of skin, skin types, dry skin remedy

No matter how quickly you want to breeze through your routine, an important part of banishing wrinkles is making sure you are hydrating the deepest layers of your skin. When your skin gets dry below the surface, it can show up as deeper wrinkles across your entire face. Instead of living with dreaded wrinkles, find a moisturizer that addresses the deeper layers of skin and not just the parts you see.

Some ingredients are better at going deep into your skin than other and if you want a quick routine, you need to incorporate them. Oils like argan have been used for centuries to revive and repair skin and that’s why its one of the main ingredients in our Repair & Release Cream. Other ingredients that will hydrate all your skin layers are shea butter and coconut oil which pack enough hydration that you will notice an improvement in the texture of your skin after only a few weeks of use!

Here’s Why You Want To Avoid Squeaky Clean Skin

clean skin, cleansing skin, cleanser, how to wash your face, washing your face, oil cleanser

There is a myth in the skincare world about squeaky clean skin. From commercials to magazines, you can find image after image of a woman washing her face with a foamy cleanser and revealing how clean her skin feels. The reality is that “squeaky clean” is really bad for your skin.

Your face should feel different and cleaner after cleansing, but here’s why skin that’s too clean can backfire.

It Strips Your Skin of Oil

clean skin, cleansing skin, cleanser, how to wash your face, washing your face, oil cleanser

No matter your skin type, your skin naturally produces oils that it needs to fight dryness, add a healthy dose of shine, and help keep skin healthy. When you wash too vigorously, or with a traditional soap or foam cleanser, it strips your skin of all these important oils and can leave it vulnerable to sensitivity, dry flakes, and pronounced wrinkles.

Wrinkles can show up when your skin is too dry because it dehydrates the lines making them look worse than they really are. Instead, opt for an oil cleanser like our Lavender Oil Cleanser. Instead of stripping skins oil, it will remove dirt, makeup, and buildup without stripping oil. You’ll be able to feel a difference in your skin after the first wash!

It Can Increase Sun Damage

clean skin, cleansing skin, cleanser, how to wash your face, washing your face, oil cleanser

When your skin is overwashed and stripped of its natural oils, it can make your skin more vulnerable to the sun. It can increase dryness and dehydrate skin as well as make you more susceptible to UVA and UVB rays. When your skin comes into contact with the harmful rays of the sun, it can lead to accelerated aging, sun spots, and damaged skin.

To make sure you’re protecting your skin properly, later skin with free-radical fighting ingredients like vitamin C, vitamin E, and antioxidants. This will not only work to re-hydrate your skin back to a healthy and glowing level but will help to repair and prevent any traces of sun damage on your face.

It Can Dehydrate Skin

clean skin, cleansing skin, cleanser, how to wash your face, washing your face, oil cleanser

The scary thing about dehydrated skin is that once it becomes dehydrated, it can sometimes take months to return skin back to normal. Dehydration to your skin will not only make wrinkles, spots, and lines look worse but it can mess with your makeup application and leave foundation and blush looking cakey and clumpy.

Dehydrated skin needs more nourishment than you can imagine. Most dermatologists will tell patients with dehydrated skin to use their hydrating moisturizer and cleanser to get the skin back to normal. If you are not sure if your skin is dehydrated, look for signs of sagging jowls, deeper wrinkles near the eyes and on the forehead, and an overall dullness to your skin. Don’t stress if your skin is dehydrated, instead use a nourishing routine for at least 30 days to get your skin back to normal, fast!

How To Cut Your Routine Down To Less Than Five Minutes

There are so many skincare products on the market these days that you could create a routine of 20+ steps if you tried. We believe in a more simplified approach to skincare and even if you don’t have lots of time, you can still have an effective routine that provides results.

While every product we make carries its weight to help provide the anti-aging results you’re looking for, you can simplify your routine and still see great results with these three easy steps that take less than five minutes.

A Great Cleanser

The backbone of any great routine is an even better cleanser. If your skin is covered in dirt, makeup, pollution, or overwhelmed with dead skin cells, your other products will never penetrate deep enough to work properly. Active ingredients like peptides and amino acids need a clean surface to do their magic!

Oil cleansers are always the top choice for dermatologists when asked what type of cleanser works best for anti-aging results. Oil cleansers can remove stubborn makeup but also help nourish your skin and leave it soft to the touch after you rinse. It’s also easier to stabilize anti-aging ingredients in an oil cleanser – which means your ingredients work harder and your skin looks better!

Clinically Proven Peptides

quick skincare routine, moisturizer, lavender oil cleanser, simplified skincare routine, skincare routine tips

Peptides are chains of amino acids that act as the building blocks to youthful and healthy skin. Without peptides, your skin will lose firmness, change in texture, and show far more lines and wrinkles than ever before. Experts believe that peptides are truly the most effective way to turn back the clock on aging and revive your skin to a younger state.

Take our Repair & Release Cream as an example. While almost every ingredient in our formulation has anti-aging properties, the undisputed effectiveness of peptides Matrixyl 6 and Proage are what really help make a difference in getting exceptional anti-aging results. Applying these is quick, easy, and only requires you to have one moisturizing step in your new, simplified routine.

A Spot Treatment For Even Skin

even skin tone, get even skin tone, dark spots, age spots, sun spots, fighting sun spots, skincare routine, simplified skincare routine, easy skincare routine, skincare hacks

How can you get a comprehensive skincare routine without having to spend 20 or 30 minutes getting ready? Having an even and bright skin tone will help fool everyone into thinking you take extra good care of your skin – even if you only use a few simple products. One of the easiest ways to achieve an even skin tone free of sun damage and age spots is by using a Dark Spot Corrector.

Dark Spot Correctors are a really easy way to even skin tone and remove pesky spots that can make you look old. Ingredients like vitamin C can help to diminish even the worst kinds of skin damage and will leave you with a vibrant and even glow. Even if your routine is only three simple steps, a dark spot treatment is bound to make a world of difference!

The Bad Skincare Habits You Need To Break Immediately

skincare tips, skincare bad habits, sleeping with makeup on, moisturizer tips, sun protection tips

Skincare habits can be the reason why you do or do not see results with your routine. No one is perfect and sometimes skincare can get confusing, but there are some things you should never make a habit of.

After lots of research, we’re breaking down some of the worst skincare habits you could have. If you’re guilty of any of these, it just takes a few small tweaks to your routine to get your skin back on the right path.

Not Moisturizing Right Away

moisturizing, moisturizer, best moisturizer aging skin, anti-aging

One of the most luxurious parts of your skincare routine is applying your Repair & Release Cream. The smooth texture of it as it glides on your face is just about as good as it gets! What may be shocking is that when and how you apply your cream is going to make all the difference in the results you see.

To get the most benefit from your moisturizer, it’s important that it is applied while your face is still damp after washing with your Lavender Oil Cleanser. This is the time when pores are open and most likely to benefit from all the peptides in your Repair & Release Cream. If you are waiting even 30 minutes before applying your moisturizer, it could explain why you haven’t been seeing the results you desire.

Not Protecting Your Skin

spf protection, spf for skin, skincare tips, sun protection tips, how to avoid dark spots

Our skin is exposed to more elements a day than any other organ in our bodies. That’s why it’s so important to make sure you do what you can to protect it. One of the most damaging things your skin can be exposed to are UV rays and sun protection should be top of mind no matter what time of year it is.

In summer months, we recommend using a 50 SPF protection to make sure your skin is safe and sound when the sun is at its strongest. You’ll also want to opt for a hat as often as possible to protect the delicate skin on your face. As you transition sun protection into fall and winter, you can opt for a lower 30 SPF, but make sure you’re still diligent about re-applying it. Sunscreen is great at protecting your skin from harmful free radicals that cause aging, but if you only apply it in the mornings, it won’t be much help.

Not Washing Your Makeup Off

sleeping in makeup, not removing makeup, makeup remover, how to remove makeup safely, how to remove makeup, skincare bad habits

Nothing will cause more damage to your skin than going to sleep without removing your makeup. Makeup is made of oils and sometimes even chemicals, which will seep into your pores if left on overnight. Not only can it cause skin infections, breakouts, and sensitivity, but it will make wrinkles even worse!

The best way to keep your skin face is to wash your face thoroughly with your Lavender Oil Cleanser before bed. To get your face clean, you used to have to use a toxic makeup remover followed by a traditional cleanser which is extra drying. Now, you can replace both steps by simply using your Lavender Oil Cleanser which melts off makeup and helps hydrate your skin so it glows! It also digs deep to make sure your pores are free and clear of any bacteria, dirt or leftover makeup.
